Code of Conduct

For the enjoyment and safety of all our tour guests, guides, venue staff and other people we come into contact with as part of a tour, Leeds Beer Tours operates a Code of Conduct which applies to all tour guests, without exception. Below is some more information; please read this thoroughly before attending a tour.

Summary

  • Treat others with respect

  • Discrimination will not be tolerated

  • No fancy dress

  • Do not turn up to a tour already under the influence of alcohol

  • Illegal substances will not be tolerated

Treat Others with Respect

When Tour Guests take part in a tour, they become representative of Leeds Beer Tours. Guest behaviour, therefore, can influence the reputation of Leeds Beer Tours.

We encourage all guests to act in a well-behaved manner and to treat others they come into contact with, during a tour, with respect.

At the discretion of the Tour Guide, if a Tour Guest is deemed to be behaving in a way that upsets others and/or damages the reputation of Leeds Beer Tours, they will be asked to leave the tour. The Tour Guide will move the Tour Guest away from the rest of the group, explain the reasons for the decision and escort them away from the venue.

Tour guests who are asked to leave the group as a result of this will not be offered a refund.

Discrimination

It is extremely important to us that our tours are a safe and enjoyable experience for all. As such, Leeds Beer Tours will not accept any form of discrimination on any grounds including, but not limited to, gender, sexuality, race, religion or belief, social class, health, age or disability.

Your Well-being

We will always seek to protect our Tour Guests in the event of any form of discrimination or concern for safety. If you feel unsafe at any point please alert your Tour Guide immediately who will move you to a safe space and ensure your well-being.

If you feel you are unable to alert your Tour Guide, in the first instance please let a member of bar staff know either in the venue you are in as part of the Tour, or the nearest Tour venue if the group is walking between venues at the time.

Where a Tour Guest is a victim of discrimination inside a venue, the Tour Guide will report this to the venue's management for appropriate action to take place. Incidents of discrimination may also be reported to the Police with the victim's permission.

The Well-being of Others

Tour guests are expected to act in a well-behaved manner.

At the discretion of the Tour Guide, if it is felt a Tour Guest is behaving in a discriminatory way towards other people (including but not limited to, the Tour Guide, other Tour Guests, bar staff or members of the public), then that Tour Guest will be asked to leave the tour. The Tour Guide will move the Tour Guest away from the rest of the group, explain the reasons for the decision and escort them away from the venue.

Tour guests who are asked to leave the group as a result of this will not be offered a refund.

Any offence may be reported to the Police.

No Fancy Dress

We welcome groups on our tour who may be celebrating a special occasion, however some of our venues operate a no fancy dress policy. As such, there is a blanket no fancy dress policy on all of our tours.

Any Tour Guests who arrive on a tour in fancy dress will be asked to leave the group to change into something more suitable and will be allowed to re-join the group afterwards. Tour Guests who choose not to re-join the tour do so of their own accord and will not be offered a refund.

Under the Influence of alcohol

If someone arrives at a tour already under the influence of alcohol and the Tour Guide feels that this risks the safety and enjoyment of others, the Tour Guest will be removed from the tour and will not be offered the opportunity to re-join later. Any Tour Guests removed from a tour for this reason will not be offered a refund.

Illegal Substances

Any Tour Guests caught in possession of, or using, what the Tour Guide suspects to be an illegal substance will be asked to leave the tour. If this occurs in a venue, the venue will also be notified. Any offence may be reported to the Police. Any Tour Guests removed from a tour for this reason will not be offered a refund.
